KATIE LITTLEFIELD

Katie is a glass artist born and raised in a small town in Southern Maine, where her deep connection to nature began. Much of her childhood was spent exploring the woods and gardens of her family's land, often sketching flowers and animals that later shaped her creative vision.

After moving to Portland at 18 and briefly studying at SMCC, Katie found herself more drawn to hands-on artistry than academic life. Her path into glass began in 2010 while managing a local head shop, where she helped coordinate beginner lessons and eventually started melting glass herself.

What began as curiosity quickly became passion. Inspired by her lifelong love of flowers and nature, Katie became fascinated by the implosion technique - learning to trap delicate floral forms in glass. Her earliest attempts were humble, but the pursuit of realism and detail has driven her since.

Today, Katie continues to explore botanical themes in her work, blending technique and color to honor the natural world that first inspired her.
